The Gladiolus or Glads belongs to the Iris family and is ideal for tall flower arrangement. The “Flower of the Gladiator” got its name from the Latin word “Gladius,” meaning sword. because of the shape of its leaves. They stems arrive with some blooms open and should be cut about an inch from the bottom. Use clean water and tall vases and add flower food . All the Glads we offer are California Grown and almost year round available. The Orange Gladiolus is about 48 ” tall and has an excellent vase life. There are 10 stems per bunch. Bring Gladiolus in early for your event because the flowers can take a while to open especially during the winter months. A couple of bunches make a nice gift to a home or office.
