Burgundy Tess Garden Roses
$65.00
Tess™ is David Austin®’s first true red cut rose. What makes this variety extra special is that, unlike conventional red cut roses, Tess™ has large, full blooms that exude the natural character and charm of old garden roses. Tess™ has spectacular blooms that are made up of many sumptuous, deep royal red petals. They begin as rounded buds with prettily waved edges. When fully open, the large outer petals surround smaller ruffled petals, forming magnificent, saucer-shaped rosettes, which give the impression of great depth. Each bloom displays a central cluster of attractive golden yellow stamens. There is a very light and pleasant tea fragrance. With its rich, romantic, jewel tones, it is not only ideal for Valentine’s Day, but also promises to be a popular choice for weddings and festive events. While these garden-style blooms look stunning arranged on their own, they also harmonize beautifully with seasonal flowers and foliage. Tess™ has 12 stems per bunch the lower shape is a flat rosette with a high petal count and larger flower diameter. Allow up to 4 days to open.
Once the roses arrive:
- Unpack your roses as soon as possible.
- Keep the packaging in place, to support the stems during hydration.
- Cut about 1″ from the base of each stem.
- Place the stems in water with flower food to aid hydration, improve opening and increase vase life.
- Rehydrate stems for 4-6 hours in the coolest place possible.
- After hydration, remove all packaging. Space the stems in the buckets of water to make room for the blooms to open. Retain guard petals as they will disappear as the bloom opens.
- Place the stems in an ambient room temperature to encourage opening.
- Opening will take about 2 days. Once opened, place back in a cool area until you are ready to work with them.
