Locally grown Lisianthus is bunched 5 to 7 stems depending on the size of the stems and grower. We mostly offer double blooming varieties and there are many new exciting colors. Cut the flowers upon arrival and hold flowers at room temperature (2 – 4 hours if flowers are limp or exhibiting bent neck) Remove any leaves that extend beyond the water line, because they can rot and breed bacteria. Many of the unopened buds which show color may open fully. Smaller buds may not open but simply support the larger blossoms and accent the foliage. The newer imported varieties like this bronze Terra-Cotta color from Holland are bunches 5 stems. Lisianthus is generally 20 – 3o inch in stem length and great to use in bouquets and vase arrangements. Some one the newer varieties are available from February through June and in the fall.
